Spaniard Sara Sorribes Tormo was introduced to tennis by her mom who is a tennis coach. Her dad is a former soccer player.  As a junior, Tormo was ranked as high as 33 in the world. At the 2013 US Open, she was a runner-up in girls’ doubles with Belinda Bencic.

Until 2017, she played mostly on the ITF tour. After her rankings improved, she has been a consistent fixture on the WTA tour. She has represented Spain at the Olympics and in Fed Cup.

Her biggest win came at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics where she beat world number one Ashleigh Barty. Her current sponsors are Joma Sport and Wilson. She has earned over $2 million in her career.
