Thiem Wins China Open

Dominic Thiem won the China Open beating Stefanos Tsitsipas 3-6, 6-4 and 6-1.  After a slow start, Thiem got going and Tsitsipas didn’t have many answers.

He beat Karen Khachanov in the semifinals in 3 sets and Andy Murray in the quarter finals. Thiem has now qualified for the Nitto ATP finals.

It’s a good win for Thiem who has been bothered by a viral illness most of the summer.  Yesterday’s win was his top-10 win since June when he beat Novak Djokovic at the French Open.
