Kyle Edmund was born in Johannesburg, South Africa. His dad is from Zimbabwe, and his mom is from South Africa. His mom is a former sprinter. He moved to Yorkshire, UK when he was 3, and started playing tennis when he was 10.

His nickname is “Kedders”. His favorite tennis players while growing up were countryman Andy Murray and Marat Safin.

Edmund has been using Wilson racquet since he was 10. Edmund currently uses the Wilson Prostaff 97 Countervail racquet.

Edmund wears Nike shoes and apparel on and off the court. He has been with Nike since 2012. He wears the Nike Air Zoom Vapor Cage 4 shoes on the court.

Edmund is a British Airways Ambassador.  Edmund’s partnership with British airways began in 2018. British Airways is the flag carrier airline of the United Kingdom, headquartered at Waterside, Harmondsworth. It’s main hub is at the London Heathrow Airport.
