Andy Murray To Return In Miami

Andy Murray plans to return to tennis in Miami if things go according to plan. Murray has been training with fellow Brit Jay Clarke in the last few days.

Murray has been out of action with pelvic injury since the Davis Cup finals in November. There have been suggestions that he may require another hip surgery

Murray said he has only been on the court twice in the last three months. But he said  things are going well.

“I need some time to build up and feel good on the court again,” Murray said. “But that’s kind of my plans just now unless I have a setback or something.”

Jack Sock Beats Humbert, Slowly Finds Form

Jack Sock is winning matches again. Earlier this year, Sock had dropped out of the ATP rankings altogether after a string injuries and poor form. He is currently ranked 768 in the world. He reached a career high ranking of 8 in 2017.

Sock is currently playing at the Oracle Challenger Series at Indian wells.  Wild cards to Indian Wells main draw (Masters tournament) are awarded to the top two players with the highest number of points in the series.

In the first round, Sock beat Japanese player Kaichi Uchida.  In the next round, Sock had a good win over Ugo Humbert, beating the Frenchman 7-6(5) and 6-4. Humbert is currently ranked 42 in the world in singles.

It’s good to see Sock put together a couple of wins.  Hopefully, he can maintain his form, and build confidence as the year goes on.
