Alexander Zverev Adds David Ferrer To Coaching Team On Trial Basis

Alexander Zverev will work with retired Spanish tennis player David Ferrer on a trial basis, reports say.  Zverev is currently coached by his dad, Alexander.

The trial will last 15 days, and if things go well the partnership is likely to continue. Zverev was previously coached by Lendl.  He also has short stints with Juan Carlos Ferrero in 2017.

Zverev has struggled to fulfill his potential despite his immense talent. Analysts have cited Zverev’s lack of discipline and professionalism for his poor results.

Last week, Zverev was seen partying when he was supposed to self-isolate after a coronavirus outbreak in the Adria Tour organized by Novak Djokovic.

Ferrer was known as someone who always gave 100% on the court and punched about his weight.  The hope is that the partnership can reignite Zverev’s game and make him a grand slam contender again.
