Bianca Andreescu Drops Octagon, Signs With IMG

Bianca Andreescu has dropped her management company Octagon and signed up with IMG. Andreescu has struggled with injuries since her historic US Open win in 2019.

Andreescu also split with her coach Sylvain Bruneau recently. She also hired well-known trainer Abdul Sillah earlier this year. Sillah worked with Serena Williams and Naomi Osaka in the past.

Andreescu and IMG shared the news on social media. IMG represents many tennis players including Denis Shapovalov, Victoria Azarenka, and Taylor Fritz.

IMG is a global sports, events, and talent management company. It has been owned by Endeavor and Silver Lake Partners since 2013. In addition to representing top athletes, the company also owns a number of events. IMG has owned the Miami Open since 1999.

Online Learning Platform TopCourt Becomes Official E-Learning Partner Of ATP And WTA

TopCourt, an e-learning platform for tennis has signed a deal to become the official e-learning partner for the ATP and the WTA.  The company founded in 2019 counts Venus Williams and Chris Evert as investors. TopCourt charges $15 per month for online tennis lessons.

As part of the partnership, ATP and the WTA will feature TopCourt content on their digital platforms. Fans will also get access to player profiles and trailers of upcoming videos.

According to Crunchbase, the TopCourt has raised $8.5 million in three rounds of funding. The company has been rapidly growing but it has not disclosed revenue numbers.

TopCourt includes tennis lessons from top players and coaches. Popular videos on the platform include the Bryan brothers’ doubles lessons, Iga Swiatek’s visualization lessons, and Paul Annacone’s story of working with Roger Federer and Pete Sampras.
