Roger Federer announced on Twitter that he will miss Dubai, Indian Wells, Bogota, Miami and the French Open after undergoing surgery on his right knee on Wednesday. Federer hopes to return on grass, and plans to play Wimbledon.
Federer said, “My right knee has been bothering me for a little while. I hoped it would go away, but after an examination, and discussion with my team, I decided to have arthroscopic surgery in Switzerland yesterday”.
Federer has 3180 ATP pints to defend until Roland Garros. His ranking is likely to drop to No. 8 when he returns. But the good news for Federer is that Wimbledon does not follow the ATP rankings for its seeding and he is likely to seeded higher.
Federer underwent surgery on his left knee in 2016 to repair a torn meniscus. But he came back strongly and won multiple grand slams.
