Who Is Stefanos Tsitsipas’ Coach? Why Does He Have Two Coaches?

Stefanos Tsitsipas is coached by his dad Apostolos Tsitsipas. He has been training at the Patrick Mouratoglou Academy in France since 2015. Patrick Mouratoglou acts as Tsitsipas’ advisor and coach though Mouratoglou is a full-time coach for Simona Halep and previously coached Serena Williams. In 2022, Tsitsipas briefly worked Thomas Enqvist. He also worked with Mark Philippoussis but the pair split in 2023.

Tsitsipas’ dad Apostolos is a trained tennis coach. He introduced tennis to Stefanos Tsitsipas at age 3. Around age 9, Tsitsipas took the sport seriously and wanted to become a tennis player.

Tsitsipas’ parents – Apostolos Tsitsipas and Julia Apostoli – are both tennis players. His mom Julia was ranked number 1 in the juniors and was ranked in the top 200 in the world. She represented the Soviet Union in the Fed Cup. Apostolos and Julia met at a WTA tournament in Athens where Julia was competing and Apostolos was a line judge.

When Stefanos Tsitsipas was born, both is parents were working as tennis instructors at the Astir Palace resort hotel in Vouliagmeni.

Stefanos Tsitsipas’ first big success came at the 2019 World Tour Finals. He beat Dominic Thiem to win that title. He went on to reach multiple grand slam semifinals and finals since then.
