Kiki Bertens Welcomes Baby Boy Mats

Kiki Bertens and her husband Remko de Rijke welcomed a baby boy Mats this week. Bertens shared the news on social media with a picture. Bertens married her physiotherapist Remko de Rijke in 2019. This is the couple’s first child.

Bertens won 10 titles in her career that spanned from 2009 to 2021. She retired from tennis in 2021 after a struggle with injuries. She reached a career-high ranking of world number 4 in 2019. Her best grand slam result came at the French Open where she reached the semifinals in 2016.

Kiki Bertens was the highest-ranked Dutch female tennis player ever. Her best results came on clay but she was also a good player on hard courts.

Joe Salisbury Becomes World Number One (First British Player Not Named Murray To Achieve Feat)

Joe Salisbury became become the number one ranked doubles player in the world. He is the third plan from Britain to rise to the top of the world rankings.

Andy Murray and Jamie Murray are two other British players to be ranked number 1 in the world. Salisbury has won two grand slam titles with American partner Rajeev Ram. He has also won two mixed doubles grand slam titles in his career.

Andy Murray reached the top of the ranking in singles while Jamie Murray and Joe Salisbury achieved the feat in doubles. The Murray brothers were simultaneously ranked number one in the world for some time.

Salisbury played college tennis at the University of Memphis before turning pro. He has earned over $3 million in his career.
