Novak Djokovic’s Father, Srdjan, Poses For Pictures With Pro-Putin Supporters

Nobody likes controversy more than Novak Djokovic‘s father Srdjan. At the Australian Open, Srdjan Djokovic posed with supporters of Vladamir Putin. Some of Putin’s supporters were carrying a Russian flag with Putin’s face and wearing shirts with pro-war messages.

After initially allowing Russian and Belarusian flags, the Australian Open banned the flags. Tennis Australia said, “A small group of people displayed inappropriate flags and symbols and threatened security guards following a match on Wednesday night and were evicted.”

A number of Serbian fans were chanting in support of Russia. It’s unclear how Srdjan Djokovic got involved with the Russian supporters at the site.

Novak Djokovic has not yet commented on his father’s support for Russia. But the Djokovic family is not new to controversy and has found ways to move forward after incidents like this.
