Lucie Safarova married her finance’ Tomas Plekanec yesterday. The couple got engaged in 2019 and have a daughter Lea, who was born in 2019.

Tomas Plekanec is an NHL player who played for the Montreal Canadiens, a popular NHL team, for most of his career. During his NHL career, he was famous for wearing a turtleneck undershirt.

Safarova shared the news of the wedding on social media with pictures. Many WTA tennis players congratulated the couple on Instagram.

Safarova won 5 grand slam titles with Bethanie Mattek-Sands. In singles, she reached the finals at the 2015 French Open and the semifinals at Wimbledon in 2014. She won the bronze medal in doubles for the Czech Republic partnering Barbora Strýcová at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics.
