Pickleball is one of the fastest-growing sports in the US and around the world. According to the US Pickleball Association (USAPA), the sport has grown 650% over the last 6 years.

A lot of tennis players also play pickleball because of the similarities between the two sports. For beginner tennis players, pickleball is easier to learn than tennis.

One of the challenges new pickleball players run into is finding a pickleball court near them. No one wants to drive 20 miles to a pickleball court. Also, the closer the courts are to you, the more likely you are to play often and stay fit.

The easiest way to find a pickleball court near you is by downloading and using the Place2Play app from the Apple app store. The app only works on iOS. There is no Android version of the app for now. Android users need to use other methods detailed below to find pickleball courts.

Places2Pplay app allows you to search for courts by entering your zip code or by enabling location access on your phone. The app shows both indoor and outdoor courts. It also shows whether the court is open for everyone or if you need to pay to use the courts.

Connect With A Local Ambassador

USAPA is the US US Pickleball Association, an organization that promotes the sport in the US.  USAPA local ambassadors are volunteers who promote the pickleball in their local area.

You can find the local ambassador for your area by going to the USAPA website. If you reach out to the ambassadors, they can help you find pickleball courts and connect you with other pickleball players.

Facebook Groups

There are several local and regional pickleball groups on Facebook. These groups have thousands of active members.  The groups are usually very helpful in getting your questions answered.

My community has a Whatapp group with hundreds of members.  The group helps me find partners and keeps me updated on new pickleball courts in the area.

Pickleball is a fast-growing sport not just in the US but in other countries as well. But finding pickleball courts in other countries can be a challenge.  Your best bet is joining Facebook groups, meetups, or regional forums in your area.
