Holger Rune is in the process of building a powerhouse support team, and his latest addition is none other than Severin Luthi, renowned as Roger Federer’s coach. With Boris Becker already in his corner, Rune is optimistic that this dream team will propel him to the elusive grand slam title.
Despite making it to the quarterfinals at grand slams on three occasions, Holger Rune has faced challenges in progressing further in these prestigious tournaments. The Danish tennis player is banking on the expertise of his new coaching lineup to guide him to a grand slam victory.
In his previous stint with star coach Patrick Mouratoglou, Rune’s performance on the court failed to meet expectations, and rumors of internal conflicts surfaced. After parting ways with Mouratoglou, Rune brought on board Boris Becker, immediately improving his results.
The turning point came in Rune’s career when Rune clinched his first Masters title in Paris in 2022, etching his name in history as the youngest player to achieve this feat since Boris Becker in 1986. Along the way, he defeated five top 10 players.
