Gael Monfils and Elina Svitolina are expecting a baby in October. The couple shared the news on social media with a beautiful message.

Monfils and Svitolina got married in July 2021. This is the couple’s first child. Many current and former tennis stars including Caroline Wozniacki and Naomi Osaka congratulated the couple on social media. 

Svitolina, who is from Ukraine, took a break from tennis after the Miami Open to recover from the emotional stress caused by Ukraine’s invasion of Russia.

Svitolina reached the semifinals at Wimbledon and the US Open in 2019. She won the bronze medal for Ukraine in women’s singles at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
