Felix Auger-Aliassime announced that he has split with his longtime coach Guillaume Marx. The pair had worked together for six years.
At the end of the season, players review their coaching arrangements and make changes. So it’s not surprising that Auger-Aliassime has decided to part ways with Marx.
Auger-Aliassime is yet to win a singles title in his pro career. He reached the finals at ATP tournaments in Rotterdam, Marseille, and Cologne this year. He will finish the year ranked 21 in the world. Despite these results, for Auger-Aliassime, in some ways, 2020 is a disappointing year.
Younger players such as Jannik Sinner are breaking through on the tour with their first titles. Auger-Aliassime probably believes that changing coaches will improve his results. For now, he has said that he will continue working with Frederic Fontang and the rest of his team.
