Ex-girlfriend Olga Sharypova Accuses Alexander Zverev Of Domestic Abuse

Sascha Zverev’s ex-girlfriend Olga Sharypova accused him of domestic abuse while the pair were together. The pattern of behavior detailed by Sharypova is very concerning.

Sharypova told the “Campionat” that Zverev tried to strangle her with a pillow, hit her head against the wall, and twisted her arms. Sharypova shared the abuse in August 2019 in New York City on Instagram, but at the time she did not name the abuser. Many speculated that the abuser was Zverev but Sharypova has confirmed that it was indeed Zverev.

Sharypova and Zverev were friends from a young age. They played at the same junior tennis tournaments and their friendship turned into romance over time. They also have a number of mutual friends in the tennis circle.

Sharypova shared the story of how she ran away from Sascha while they were staying at the hotel. She left barefoot with nothing but a phone. A friend picked her up and her friend’s family took her in. The next day, Sascha threw her things out of the room.

Sharypova wrote this message on Instagram:

Now I want to tell one very personal and very difficult story for me, which I have already experienced and left in the past.

I am writing this so that girls who are or were in the same situation do not feel lonely and find the strength to live on. I was a victim of domestic violence! The first time it happened at the beginning of the relationship, there was a quarrel and he hit my head against the wall with such force that I sat on the floor. What happened next? I was accused of raising my hand .. the man who hit me a second ago stood and shouted at me. How is this possible? Why didn’t I leave right away? Why did you forgive? These questions, I really cannot give answers. I loved.

I sincerely loved and wanted to be with this person, it seemed to me that this was just a mistake that we would fix together and leave in the past. But the only thing that was worth leaving in the past was this relationship.

Last August I ran out of the hotel barefoot, beaten. I stood on a New York street and did not know where to go and what to do. They tried to strangle me with a pillow, hit my head against the wall, twisted my arms, and at that moment I was really afraid for my life. This was not the first and not the last situation when a hand was raised against me in a relationship. She was the most terrible because at some moments I could not breathe. Honestly, I hardly remember that time, because then there were no colors of life, only fog and lack of understanding of what was happening. I was a different person, I believed in love and tried to keep it. But people don’t change, as time shows.

The relationship with the abuser is not new now. But when you are in them, it is very difficult for you to get out of them. How did I get out of them? This is a separate story, which I will tell you a little later. Because I will not be silent anymore. Because this is a topic that needs to be discussed. And I’m not afraid anymore. #I’m not afraid

You can read the entire interview here. These are serious accusations against Sascha and come only a few days after another ex-girlfriend Brenda Patea announced that she is pregnant with Zverev’s baby.
