Maria Sharapova announced on IG that she is engaged to her boyfriend Alexander Gilkes. Gilkes has royal connections – he attended Eton College with Prince William and remains friends with him. His brother, Charlie, once dated Pippa Middleton, sister of Duchess Catherine.

Gilkes was the founder of the auction house Paddle8 which specializes in art and collectibles. He sold the company in 2018 to The Native. In 2020, he founded Squared Circles with Lukas Derksen. The company invests in sustainable businesses that promise a better future. 

Gilkes was previously married to fashion designer Misha Nonoo but the couple divorced in 2017.

Sharapova retired in 2020 after struggling with injury. She won five grand slam singles titles in her career. Since her retirement, Sharapova has been an entrepreneur and investor. 

American tennis player Jack Sock married girlfriend Laura Little yesterday. Sock and Little were engaged a year ago. They shared the news of their wedding on social media. 

The wedding occurred at the Ocean Course Clubhouse in the Kiawah Island Golf Resort in South Carolina. The couple kept the number of guests small due to COVID-19.

John Isner attended the wedding along with Nick Monroe and Neal Skupski. Missing at the wedding was Sock’s doubles partner Mike Bryan.

Little is a model who was Miss North Carolina in 2019. She was also a dancer for the NBA team, Charlotte Hornets.

Jack Sock reached a career-high singles ranking of world number 8 in 2017. He has been struggling with injuries for the last two years. He ended the year 2020 ranked 253 in the world.

At the 2016 Olympics, Sock won a gold medal in mixed doubles partnering Bethanie Mattek-Sands, and a bronze medal in doubles with Steve Johnson. Sock also won doubles titles at Wimbledon and the US Open.
