Kei Nishikori To Miss Asian Swing Due to Arm Injury

Kei Nishikori will miss the Asian Swing — his hometown tournament, Tokyo and Shanghai — due to an arm injury  that he has had on and off since May.

The much anticipated exhibition match between Nishikori and Roger Federer on October 14 in Tokyo is also canceled.

If things go according plan, Nishikori  plans to play Vienna and Paris.  He is in the running for the year-end  ATP finals in London. Nishikori has committed to play Davis Cup later this year.

Federer To Play Exhibition Matches in South America Against del Potro and Zverev

Roger Federer announced that he will play exhibition matches in South America in November against Juan Martin del Potro and Alex Zverev.

Federer will play against US Open Champion Juan Martin del Potro in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on Wednesday November 20.

Del Potro stated: “I would like to tell you a very nice news, that I am coming back to play in Argentina and against one of the best players ever: my friend Roger Federer.”

On Friday November 22, Federer will face Alexander Zverev in Bogota, Colombia, at the Movistar Arena. The pair are expected to participate in some off-court activities and do a press conference.

“It will be the match of the present, Federer, against the future, Zverev. It could not get any better”, the organizers said.

Del Potro and Zverev are both represented by Team8, Roger Federer’s agency run by Tony Godsick.

The exhibition match schedule is as follows.

🇦🇷 11/20 – BuenosAires

🇨🇴 11/22 – Bogota

🇲🇽 11/23 – MexicoCity
