Anisimova Pulls Out of Abu Dhabi, Tomljanovic is Replacement

Amanda Anisimova has pulled out Mubadala World Tennis Championship. Ajla Tomljanovic will take Anisimova’s spot, and play Maria Sharapova on December 19th.

“It’s really disappointing to have to withdraw from the Mubadala World Tennis Championship,” Anisimova said. “I was looking forward so much to coming to Abu Dhabi and I hope to make the trip in the future.”

Anisimova has been working Carlos Rodriguez in the off-season.  Rodriguez coached Justine Henin throughout her career.  The partnership comes as Anisimova hopes to have a good 2020, after a break through year in 2019.

Wozniacki To Play Farewell Match Against Serena In Copenhagen

 

Caroline Wozniacki will play her farewell match against  her friend Serena Williams in Copenhagen on May 18, 2020. The match dubbed The “Final One 2020” will be played at the Royal Arena.  One of Denmark’s greatest athletes, Wozniacki will get a farewell and tribute she deserves.

F Sports Group’s director Mads H. Frederiksen said, “The event will cost millions. But hopefully, it’s also worth it. Caroline deserves this tribute. She has been number one in the world rankings and won a grand slam tournament.”

Royal Arena can accommodate 11,500 fans.  Tickets are sold out already but the there is a waiting list you can join in case tickets become available. 

Serena Williams was one of the bridesmaids when Wozniacki married NBA star David Lee  at the Rosewood Castiglion del Bosco in Tuscany
