Clijsters To Start Comeback In March

Kim Clijsters is back on the court practicing again.  She tore her MCL 7 weeks ago during a padel game.  She targeting an return sometime in March though an earlier return in February is possible.  She has taken wild cards at Monterrey, Indian Wells and Charleston.

That’s great news for Clijsters fans. She has been struggling with injuries throughout her career but has shown great perseverance in coming back.

Sania Mirza To Partner Rajeev Ram At Australian Open

Sania Mirza will make her comeback to the WTA tour after a two year maternity break. She will partner with American Rajeev Ram at the Australian Open to play the mixed double event.  Ram won the 2019 Australian Open mixed doubles with Czech player  Barbora Krejčíková.

Rajeev Ram has a doubles ranking of 24.  Ram and his doubles partner Joe Salisbury qualified for the year-end ATP Tour Finals. The pair won two doubles titles in 2019.

Ram’s parents are both from India. Ram been friends with Sania Mirza since their junior tennis days.  Another common thread between the two is that Sania is married to Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik while Ram is married to Pakistani-American Zainab
