After dismal results in 2021, Bianca Andreescu has fired her coach Sylvain Bruneau. Bruneau had worked with Andreescu for 4 years and helped Andreescu win her first grand slam at the 2019 US Open. Andreescu announced the split on Instagram.

It is with a heavy heart that I would like to inform my fans that my long time coach, mentor and friend, Sylvain and I, have mutually decided to end our incredible coaching relationship. Our friendship will live forever… it has been an amazing 4 years… I am very grateful for everything we accomplished together and of all our great memories. Sylvain was more than a coach… he is family ❤️

Andreescu struggled with knee and foot injuries since her US Open victory.  She also tested positive for COVID-19 last month, which hampered her preparation for the French Open.

Andreescu is currently preparing for the grass-court season. She has not announced a new coach.

Press conferences are a great way to hear directly from the players. Unfortunately, TV channels don’t show many press conferences. As a fan, you have to rely on tournament websites, YouTube videos, etc to catch what the players have to say.

ASAP Sports Transcripts is a repository that includes transcripts from most tennis tournaments. The transcript archive goes back to 1992. In addition to tennis transcripts, you can find transcripts for a number of other sports including basketball, baseball, and soccer there.

There is usually a slight delay of 1 to 2 days before the interview gets posted. But it’s a goldmine. I had a lot of fun reading interview transcripts after iconic matches in the past. Hope you find something interesting there!
