Hubert Hurkacz and Carlos Alcaraz Play Exhibition Match In Greece

Hubert Hurkacz and Carlos Alcaraz played an exhibition match in Greece on April 25, 2022.  The match was part of weeklong invitational tournament run by IMG between April 25 and May 1to showcase future stars of the game.

Both Hurkacz and Alacaraz are represented by IMG. Even though the tournament is being held in Greece, the country’s top tennis player Stefanos Tsitsipas was not invited to the event. That’s because he is not represented by IMG. Tsitsipas works with Patricio Apey and ACE Group, which was founded by Apey.

Many experts and tennis fans have predicted Alcaraz to win multiple grand slams. His best surface is clay. He is often compared to compatriot Rafael Nadal because of the similarities in their styles of play.

The tournament will be shown on the Tennis Channel. The tournament pays for food and accommodations for all the players selected for the tournament. The tournament gave two wild cards to players from Greece.

Dominic Thiem Has Changed His Forehand After Wrist Injury

Dominic Thiem appears to have a new forehand. Thiem had to sit out for almost 10 months due to an elbow injury. The changed forehand could be an effort to protect his wrist. The new action uses the whole arm and his body to generate head speed. Previously, Thiem used his wrist to generate power.

It’s not uncommon for players to change their actions after an injury. Novak Djokovic changed his serve after an elbow injury. Juan Martin del Potro changed his backhand after a left wrist injury. Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal have also changed their forehands significantly over their careers.

Dominic Thiem is still early in his return to the tour. It remains to be seen how the new forehand affects Thiem’s game.
