Servebot-Returnbot: John Isner and Diego Schwartzman To Play Doubles In Rome

When it comes to doubles teams, height is no barrier. John Isner, who is 6 ft 10 inches, will partner with Diego Schwartzman, who is only 5 ft 7 inches tall to play doubles at the Italian Open in Rome.

The servebot-returnbot team will be fun to watch on the court. Diego Schwartzman has already had some friendly banters with another tall player, Reilly Opelka. Opelka once gave Schwartzman a servebot shirt.

John Isner, who is 37 years old, has been playing a lot of doubles recently as his singles career slowly winds down. Isner and Hubert Herkacz teamed up to win the Miami Open title last month.

Despite his height, Diego Schwartzman was able to reach the Top 10 in the world. He has won 4 titles. He reached the semifinals at the 2020 French Open.

Taylor Townsend Switches To Head Racquets

Taylor Townsend appears to have dropped Dunlop and moved to Head racquets. She has been using the Head Radical racquets in her recent matches.

Townsend was the the number 1 ranked junior in the world in 2012. Though she reached a peak singles ranking of 61 in the WTA tour, she struggled to produce consistent results. The USTA refused to support her because of her weight. But Townsend hired coaches on her own and competed on the tour.

She found better success in doubles. She reached the semifinals at the 2020 US Open with American partner Asia Muhammad.

Taylor Townsend, who took a maternity break from tennis, won an ITF title last week. While she was away from the tour, she was an analyst for the Tennis Channel.
