Andreas Seppi Retires From Tennis After An Excellent Career (Italian Tennis Federation Insults Him By Denying a WildCard For Farewell Tournament)

Andreas Seppi has decided to hang up his racquets. Seppi, the first Italian man to win a title on three surfaces called time on his career after the Challenger in Ortisei in his hometown.

Seppi reached a career-high ranking of world number 18. He reached the fourth round in singles at grand slams multiple times. He won three singles titles and one doubles title in his career.

It’s been a difficult season, especially in terms of my physical condition. Many ailments and little continuity. I realized that my body can no longer bear certain efforts and I have decided that the tournament in Ortisei will be my last one as a professional.
