Sloane Stephens To Wear Free People Movement Clothing

After being dropped by Nike, American tennis star Sloane Stephens will be wearing apparel from Free People Movement (FPM). FPM also sponsors Sofia Kenin.

Speaking about her new partnership, Stephens said:

I’m thrilled to be joining the @fpmovement team as their newest ambassador! I’m looking forward to the support they will give me in my tennis career and in my efforts off the court. I’m so excited to be in Australia wearing FP, and I know the FP Movement team will be cheering me on every step of the way.

Over the years, Sloane Stephens has been sponsored by many brands. In 2017, she was wearing Adidas and switched to Nike in 2018. When the contract came up for renewal at the end of 2022, the two parties couldn’t agree on a deal. Nike has recently been adding performance clauses to its contracts which makes the brand less appealing to tennis players ranked outside the top 20.

Stephens has been struggling with injuries for the last few years. In 2021, she dropped out of the top 50 but she found her footing in 2022 when she won her first title in almost four years and reached the French Open quarterfinal.

Sloane Stephens won the 2017 US Open title beating Madison Keys. In 2018, she reached the French Open final but lost to Simona Halep. She is married to US soccer player Jozy Altidore.
