Brandon Nakashima Lifts Next Gen Title, Sets Himself For A Big 2023

Brandon Nakashima became the first American to win the Next Gen ATP Finals. Nakashima beat Jiri Lehecka to lift the title. Nakashima was unbeaten all week. Last year, he reached lost in the semifinals at the Next Gen Finals losing to Sebastian Korda.

Previous winners of the Next Gen ATP Finals have gone on to have big seasons the following year. Previous winners include Jannik Sinner, Carlos Alcaraz, Stefanos Tsitsipas, and Hyeon Chung.

Brandon Nakashima has been impressive under pressure. He is 16-1 in tiebreaks since Wimbledon. He won his first ATP title at the San Diego Open earlier this year. At Wimbledon, he reached the fourth round- his best grand slam result. 

Brandon Nakashima was born in San Diego to a Japanese American father. His mom is originally from Vietnam and moved to the US when she was five. As a junior, he reached his peak ranking of world number 3.

Sania Mirza And Husband Shoaib Malik Announce Reality Show

Indian tennis star Sania Mirza and her husband Shoaib Malik are launching a reality show called,  The Mirza Malik Show, on Urduflix, an OTT platform. The announcement comes at a time when there are media reports indicating that the couple is headed for a split.

Sania Mirza retired from tennis at the end of the 2022 season. She won six grand slam titles in her career – three doubles grand slam titles and three mixed doubles titles. She was ranked world number 1 in doubles. In singles, she reached a peak ranking of world number 27. Her best singles result came at the US Open where she reached the fourth round.

Mirza and Malin married in 2010. In 2018, they became parents to a baby boy. Mirza’s husband Shoaib Malik is a Pakistani cricketer who played for the country between 1990 and 2021. He was the captain of the Pakistan cricket team between 2007 and 2009.
