Shelby Rogers And Belinda Bencic In “Bumpgate” Controversy At Charleston

Belinda Bencic beat Shelby Rogers in three sets in the second rounda at the Charleston Open. After Bencic won the tight second set, Rogers bumped into her while leaving the court for a break.

The “Bumpgate” was a hot topic of conversation among tennis fans online. Bencic was shocked by the interaction as we can see from her reactions.

Bencic told the crowd after the win, “I completely understand. Of course, I know Shelby’s your favorite. She’s from here. She’s at home. I would love to be her bc it’s very nice when all the people are cheering for her. But I also really enjoyed this match”

Bencic recently split with her coach Dimitry Tursunov. In 2023, she has won two titles – at Adelaide and Abu Dhabi.

Belinda Bencic Splits With Coach Dmitry Tursunov

Belinda Bencic has split with coach Dmitry Tursunov after six months.  The partnership didn’t produce the results that Bencic expected, so the separation is not surprising. He started coaching Bencic in October 2022.

The split happened after the Miami Open according to news reports. Bencic lost in the fourth round at the Australian Open. She has won 2 titles this year – at Adelaide and Abu Dhabi.

Tursunov is a former top 20 player who won seven titles in his career. Since his retirement, he has coached a number of players Aryna Sabalenka, Anett Kontaveit, and Emma Raducanu.
