Dominic Thiem Splits With Management Company Kosmos

Dominic Thiem has parted ways with his management company Kosmos. Kosmos had been representing Thiem’s business interests for 18 months.

Speaking about the change, Thiem said:

My management will not make me a better player, nor will it kindle the fire in me, It doesn’t matter who manages me.

Dominic Thiem‘s career took a turn for the worse after the partnership with Kosmos began. Thiem injured his wrist and was out of the tour for nine months.

Thiem’s younger brother Moritz Them, who is 23, will take over as Thiem’s business manager. It’s not clear if this is a stop-gap arrangement or a long-term plan.

Kosmos recently pulled out of its commitment to managing Davis Cup for 25 years. Reports indicate that the company is in financial trouble and defaulted on its obligations to Davis Cup.

Despite Low Ranking, Feliciano Lopez Wants To Finish 2023 Season Before Hanging Up His Racquet

2023 is Feliciano Lopez‘s last year on the tour. The 41-year-old is ranked outside the top 500 and is not able to get direct entry to top tournaments.

But Lopez is determined to carry on for the rest of the season before handing up. Speaking about his upcoming retirement, Lopez said:

Since I decided it’s my last year on Tour, it’s been a bit difficult.. bc I love what I do. I have a passion for tennis. I wish I could continue playing & it’s a bit sad. But on the other hand, I have to do it bc I’m 41 & this is not forever; I understand.

He has fond memories of playing against Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, and Novak Djokovic.

Those of my generation are lucky; when I am old, I will be able to say that I was lucky to play against Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic; not everyone can say that

Lopez won the 2016 French Open doubles title with fellow Spaniard Marc López. He reached a career-high ranking of world number 9 in doubles. He has won 6 doubles titles in his career.
