Jannik Sinner won the Citi Open and became the youngest ATP 500 champion in history. He defeated American Mackenzie McDonald 7-5, 4-6, 7-5 in a tough battle. (ATP)

After his win, Sinner said: 

When you see somebody is the youngest or whatever, I don’t put much weight on that. There are a lot of players who have done much, much better than me. t’s not about who is the youngest or whatever. I just want to improve, work hard.

John Isner defeated Brandon Nakashima to win his sixth Atlanta Open title. Despite the loss, Nakashima had a good couple of weeks. He reached the finals at Los Cabos, where he lost to Cameron Norrie in the final. He reached his career-best ranking of 87 this week. (AJC)

American Reilly Opelka and Italian Jannik Sinner won the doubles event beating Steve Johnson and Jordan Thompson, 6-4, 7-6, 10-3 in the final. 

20-year old American Jenson Brooksy had a great week beating Kevin Anderson, Frances Tiafoe, Felix Auger-Aliassime, and John Millman at the Citi Open. Brooksby’s style of play garnered a lot of positive reviews. Even Andy Murray was impressed.

They say that your first title is the hardest. Once you get your first title, the pressure is off and you play freely.  That fits Danielle Collins very well. After winning her first title recently, she won her second straight title at the Silicon Valley Classic beating Daria Kasatkina.

Federer pulled out of Toronto and Cincy citing his knee injury. It’s not clear if he will play the US Open. But he celebrated his 40th birthday this week. Novak Djokovic and Rod Laver were among those who offered Federer birthday wishes on social media. (Telegraph India)
