Jelena Ostapenko is one of the most aggressive tennis players on tour. Steve Tignor described Ostakenko’s style of play as “See ball, hit winner”. Ostapenko won the 2017 French Open but has since struggled with form. Her current sponsors are Pironetic, Rolex, and Wilson.
Ostapenko, who goes by the name Alona, to friends and fellow players was born in a sports family. Her dad, Jevgenijs Ostapenko, played professional soccer for FC Metalurh Zaporizhya in Ukraine.
Ostakepnko is a good dancer. She even competed in the National Latvian Championships for Ballroom Dancing. She credits her excellent footwork to years she spent practicing dancing.
Latvia issued a postal stamp to commemorate her French Open win in 2017.

Rolex
Ostapenko became a Rolex ambassador in 2018. It is unclear if the partnership still exists. Ostapenko is no longer featured on the athletes page on the Rolex website.
