John Isner has one of the most powerful serves in the game of tennis. Part of the reason is that he is 6 ft 10 inches and is one of the tallest players on the tour. Until 14, Isner played basketball before switching to tennis in a serious way.
Isner played college tennis at the University of Georgia (2004-07). He reached the NCAA singles final and won doubles & team titles in 2007. He only started playing on ATP tour after college.
His best grand slam success came at the 2018 Wimbledon Championships, where he reached the semifinals. He achieved a peak singles ranking of world number 8 in 2018. His sponsors are Fila, Prince, Tamko, Defy, Bass Pro, Ebix, Nulo, and Runa. He has earned over $25 million.
John Isner’s Sponsors
Fila
Italian apparel and shoe maker Fila signed John Isner for a 3-year deal in 2016, and then extended the deal in 2019. In addition to wearing Fila apparel, Isner wears the Fila Axilus Energized 2 shoes on the court. In addition to sponsoring a number of tournaments, Fila also supports Tennis Canada, Argentine Tennis Association, Kim Clijsters Academy and John Newcombe Tennis Ranch. After graduating from college, Isner was with Nike, and later with Lacoste for 4 years.
Prince
Isner is one of the few players on tour using the Prince racquet. His racquet is the Prince Textreme Warrior 100.
Tamko
TAMKO Building Products is one of the America’s largest manufacturers of residential and commercial roofing products. John Isner’s father was a building contractor in North Carolina and was a frequent customer of Tamko. In addition, Tamko’s CEO David Humphreys is an avid supporter of tennis. Supporting Isner, who has been a top American tennis player for more than a decade comes as no surprise.
Hotel Planner
HotelPlanner is a hotel deals booking site that offers negotiated hotel rates for extended stays and corporates reservations.
Ebix
Ebix provides on-demand software and e-commerce services to the insurance, financial and healthcare industries. Isner wears the Ebix patch on his left shoulder. Fila allows its players to wear additional patches. Nike is strict in that regard, though it has made exception in recent years.
Runa
Inser doesn’t just endorse Runa. He is also an investor in the company. The company makes the popular organic guayusa tea.
