Borna Gojo attended Wake Forest University from 2017 to 2019 and played a key role in the team’s 2018 NCAA Championship win. He did not complete his Economics degree there and decided to become a professional tennis player.

He has been playing mostly in the Challenger circuit due to his low rankings. At the 2023 US Open, he won three qualifying rounds to qualify for the main draw. Then he won three more matches to reach the fourth round – his best result at a grand slam so far in his career.
