Albot wins Delray Open. Creates History for Moldova

Radu Albot saved three championships points against Daniel Evans to win 3-6 6-3 7-6(7) in his first ATP Tour final at the Delray Beach Open.

The 29-year-old will climb to a career-high No. 52. Albot also made Moldovan history, becoming the first player from his country to lift an ATP Tour title.

Evans recently returned from a year-long cocaine suspension and was looking for his first title in almost a year.

It feels unbelievable,” said 29-year-old Albot. “You work your whole life, your whole career, and at the end you win a tournament.”
