Spaniard Sara Sorribes Tormo was introduced to tennis by her mom who is a tennis coach. Her dad is a former soccer player. As a junior, Tormo was ranked as high as 33 in the world. At the 2013 US Open, she was a runner-up in girls’ doubles with Belinda Bencic.
Until 2017, she played mostly on the ITF tour. After her rankings improved, she has been a consistent fixture on the WTA tour. She has represented Spain at the Olympics and in Fed Cup.
