Shintaro Mochizuki is the former junior world number 1. He won the 2019 Wimbledon boys title and was the first Japanese player to achieve that feat.

In 2023, he won his first Challenger title at the Open Città della Disfida in Italy. He has been steadily climbing up the rankings since entering the ATP tour.
