There are random friendships that sometimes surprise you. Canadian singer Shania Twain congratulated Casper Ruud after he won the Gstaad title and posed for a picture with Ruud. This random friendship set the internet abuzz.

The backstory is that Ruud and Twain met each other through mutual friends and hit it off. Twain watched Ruud at Gstaad last year but he lost in the semifinals. Speaking of Twain, Ruud said:

I really appreciated that she came back this year and supported me in the final,” Ruud said. “It was nice to see her again.

Twain has been living in Corseaux, Switzerland for many years. She is married to Swiss Nestlé executive Frédéric Thiébaud.
