Francesca Schiavone Beats Breast Cancer

Francesca Schiavone revealed that she had been she has won the battle with breast cancer.  She was diagnosed with cancer several months ago. 2010 French Open champion and the first Italian to win a grand slam singles title said,   “I’m really happy of who I am today.”

“But the best thing about it is that I have managed to win this battle. And when they told me a few days ago, I exploded with happiness and I still live with happiness today, I can cut it with a knife.”

She continued, “I’m ready with my heart and my mind to start new projects I had planned, but I never got round to. So we’ll see each other really soon.”

Anisimova Pulls Out of Abu Dhabi, Tomljanovic is Replacement

Amanda Anisimova has pulled out Mubadala World Tennis Championship. Ajla Tomljanovic will take Anisimova’s spot, and play Maria Sharapova on December 19th.

“It’s really disappointing to have to withdraw from the Mubadala World Tennis Championship,” Anisimova said. “I was looking forward so much to coming to Abu Dhabi and I hope to make the trip in the future.”

Anisimova has been working Carlos Rodriguez in the off-season.  Rodriguez coached Justine Henin throughout her career.  The partnership comes as Anisimova hopes to have a good 2020, after a break through year in 2019.
