Dominic Thiem won the China Open beating Stefanos Tsitsipas 3-6, 6-4 and 6-1. After a slow start, Thiem got going and Tsitsipas didn’t have many answers.
He beat Karen Khachanov in the semifinals in 3 sets and Andy Murray in the quarter finals. Thiem has now qualified for the Nitto ATP finals.

It’s a good win for Thiem who has been bothered by a viral illness most of the summer. Yesterday’s win was his top-10 win since June when he beat Novak Djokovic at the French Open.
With this win, Thiem joins Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic with tour-leading 4 titles this season.
Andy Murray also had a good week despite his loss to Thiem in the quarter finals. In fact, this was his best week in singles since under going a hip replacement surgery. If his form continues, 2020 looks good for Murray – that’s something we couldn’t have said at the Australian Open.
