Bianca Andreesu Volunteered At A Domestic Violence Shelter During Her Time Away From Tennis

Bianca Andreescu volunteered at a domestic violence shelter while she was taking time off from tennis. Andreescu said that the stories she heard from women made her sad. But it also moved her closer to the cause and she hopes that she will be able to launcher her own initiative one day.

Recently, retired pro Pam Shriver discussed her relationship with her coach Don Candy. Shriver was only 17 when the relationship started. Candy was married at the time of the affair. Shriver’s relationship with Candy lasted 5 years and Shriver said she couldn’t find a way out of the relationship.

Domestic violence incidents rose during the pandemic as people were confined to their homes for almost two years. Some reports have pegged the increase at 30%.

Several tennis players have been accused of domestic violence in the last couple of years. Alexander Zverev allegedly physically and emotionally abused his former girlfriend Olya Sharypova. Seyboth Wild and Nikoloz Basilashvili have also been accused of abuse against their partners.

Rafael Nadal To Take Honorary Kick Off In Match Between Real Madrid And Santiago Bernabéu

Rafael Nadal will take the honorary kick off in the LaLiga match between Real Madrid and Santiago Bernabéu. Nadal, who has 21 grand slams,  has been an honorary member at Real Madrid since 2011.

Nadal is a passionate supporter of the Real Madrid soccer club. The reason Nadal supports Real Madrid is that his uncle Miguel Angel Nadal played for the club before he joined Barcelona. Miguel Angel Nadal returned to Real Madrid towards the end of his career.

While Nadal has been successful on all surfaces, clay is by far his best surface. He has a record 13 French Opens and many of his clay court records will stand for a long time, especially his 81 consecutive wins on clay, which is the longest single-surface win streak in the Open era.

Rafael Nadal will return to the courts to play at the Madrid Open. He has been recovering from a rib fracture and has not played on clay this year.
